Majesco Announces Cooking Mama: World Kitchen

Majesco Entertainment today announced the results of their fiscal quarter.  The company stated that first quarter sales rose 29% to $18.7 million in profits.  Nearly 3 million of that being attributed to Cooking Mama sales both on the Wii and DS.  For the full fiscal year, Majesco is forcasting sales between $53 million to $58 million with 59% from DS and 40% from Wii games.

Announced during this conference was Cooking Mama: World Kitchen for Wii slated to come out sometime in the fiscal year of 2008 along with other previously announced games:

  • Blast Works: Build, Trade & Destroy (Wii)
  • Wonderworld Amusement Park (Wii)
  • Cake Mania 2 (DS)
  • Nancy Drew: The Mystery of the Clue Bender Society (DS)
  • Babysitting Mania (DS)

Last but not least, Major Minor’s Majestic March being made by Masaya Matsuura, who previously worked on the PaRapper the Rapper franchise, will be released sometime in the 2009 fiscal year.
I’m glad to see Majesco post gains instead of the losses the company was releasing last year.  Diversity is good in this industry, even if you don’t play the games a company releases.
