New Sonic Title Announced
SEGA of America along with SEGA of Europe officially announced a new game for their blue mascot, Sonic Unleashed. Currently the story revolves around Sonic trying to put the world back together after Dr. Eggman had broken it apart. To help him in this task, Sonic will need to hunt down the chaos emeralds. The company also released a trailer for the game, though did not specify which version of the game is in it:
Sonic Unleashed is still under development and will be available sometime this holiday season around the world.
If I had to guess which version the video is showing, I’d say Xbox 360.

Call me crazy if you must, but that really looks like it could be a lot of fun. The regular 2D perspectives and straightforward 3D stuff make me think that maybe Sonic Team is recalling exactly what parts of a Sonic game are fun to play. If we end up playing as Sonic only then we’ll know for sure that they’re slowly figuring out what they’re doing.
Crazy.
If this is as fun to play as it looks, this might acutally be the first sonic game I buy since Sonic 2 for Sega Genesis. Sure, I’ve played some of the more recent ones (and I never got a chance to buy Sonic Rush for DS and my friend said it was awesome) but it looks like it mixes old school Sonic with some 3D perspectives from Sonic Adventure 2 (Which I had fun playing… as sonic and tails).
