Activision Has Guitar Hero Plans For Metallica

Activision recently filed its 10-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and about halfway down there was a line regarding its plans for the 2009 fiscal year. In addition to Call of Duty 5 and a slew of Guitar Hero and movie-license games, Activision stated that it intends to release "Guitar Hero: Metallica…across multiple platforms." Given the success of Guitar Hero III on Wii, and Activision’s other plans for Nintendo platforms, we can only presume that the Wii is one of these multiple platforms. As of now there are no game details, only the name; more details are sure to follow with an official announcement from Activision.

The Guitar Hero franchise began in November 2005, and by April 2009 there will be eight Guitar Hero games; four of them will be released within the next ten months. Cash cow anyone?
