Square-Enix’s Japanese site recently put up a page featuring the Nintendo DS logo and an all-too-familiar ticking clock. In addition to the visual teaser, the site’s URL ends in the letters "CTDS". All signs point to a DS version of the world-renowned SNES RPG, Chrono Trigger, but unfortunately nothing is confirmed at this time. Feel free to visit the site above and speculate to your heart’s content; more details will be posted as they emerge.
I’m rather surprised that Chrono Trigger has managed to avoid being ported or remade for so long. This evidence hints rather strongly, though.
[UPDATE] – Square-Enix has officially announced the game is indeed Chrono Trigger. It will be updated with features for the DS such as touch screen functionality and a Wireless Play mode. According to the company it will be available for US consumption for the holidays.

Oh and there’s a scan floating around the net of a japanese magazine called JUMP putting a Chrono Trigger teaser logo pic or whatever in their latest issue.
True, however that port on the PS was poor due to loading times.
On the DS I could see those issues being addressed if this is a port. If it’s a remake, perhaps we’ll see it in the style of FF3 (3D remake).
If it was remade like FF3 or 4, then maybe I’d check it out. But really, I’ve played it once before and imo it’s not worth playing again if they’re not adding anything completely mind-blowing to it.
I still don’t see why they can’t just make a sequel.
RE seems to have missed Radical Dreamers (Jp SNES-satellite only) and Chrono Cross.
I personally only played an hour of the PS1 version and didn’t care much for the loading time because I was half asleep as it was.
And I’d like it in 3D, but if it’s not, I wouldn’t mind just buying a port! But, it will probably have some new touch menus and touch mini-games.
I’m not quite sure what I’d think about if it had been 3D graphics like FFIII or IV, but as it is I’ll still get it (once I get a DS). I don’t own it and it’s probably my favorite game.
