Wiikly Update: 9/22/08

WiiWare: Mega Man 9, 1,000 Points

The series returns to its 8-bit roots with Mega Man 9. An absurd NES-era difficulty level compliments classic graphics, music, levels and bosses. What more do we need to say?

WiiWare: Plättchen Twist ‘n’ Paint, 1,000 Wii Points

This self-described puzzle shooter places you in the role of a FantasyME; your job is to protect the ZeLeLi from the evil Shadow Plättchen. Twist and paint your way through over 300 solo levels, or hop online and play up to eight players competitively; there’s also a co-op multiplayer mode.

NES: Super Dodge Ball, 500 Wii Points

Play as Team USA in this old NES sports title as you try to climb the ranks and become the best dodgeballers ever. Take down your opponents with normal or power shots, but watch out for varying terrains that will affect your traction. Manage your team, adding or removing players until you have the perfect roster for your playstyle. Super Dodge Ball also supports two-player competitive play.

Genesis: Vectorman, 800 Wii Points

It is 2049. Humans have left a horribly polluted Earth, leaving robots to clean up the mess. When one robot, WarHead, begins a robot war, it’s up to Vectorman to stop him. Jump and shoot through numerous levels of this action platformer, and along the way you’ll transform into a dune buggy, train, drill, and more.

We’ve got a good crop this week; four good-looking titles. My download points will have to go to MegaMan 9, though; I love those old-school titles.
