Wiikly Update: 9/29/08

WiiWare: Art Style: Orbient, 600 Wii Points

Orbient is the first of a series of Art Style games developed by Nintendo and set for release in October. In Orbient, you use gravity and antigravity to control a star as you progress through 50 stages; collide with other stars to increase your size or gain satellites. Watch out, though, for obstacles and black holes. Nintendo promises to deliver "elegant design, polished graphics, and pick-up-and-play controls" with the Art Style series.

WiiWare: Bomberman Blast, 1,000 Wii Points

Bomberman is back, and he’s entirely multiplayer this time, taking the game to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for battles with up to eight players. You can collect new items that are activated with a shake of the Wii Remote, or add your Mii caricatures into the battle. Blast also keeps track of your win/loss record and ranks it on NWC.

SNES: Super Turrican 2, 800 Wii Points

This entry in the Turrican series, while keeping the same controls and general gameplay, takes a bit of a departure. Unlike Super Turrican, also available, 2 focuses more on action and battles, leaving the larger, explorable levels of the original games behind. If you liked the original, keep this change in mind before downloading.

I wonder how Orbient plays, being a sort of first-party experiment. Otherwise, eight-player online Bomberman? I am there.
