WiiWare: Sandy Beach, 500 Wii Points
This WiiWare title appeals to the sandcastle-building child in all of us, allowing the player to construct sand castles either at their leisure or under the threat of miniature siege. In Crab Battle mode, you’ll build up your castle, then build defenses to stop the mean crabs from destroying your handiwork. You can also comb the beach with a metal detector to find additional constructs for your sand castle.
SNES: Kirby’s Dream Land 3, 800 Wii Points
Kirby’s final SNES outing was also Nintendo’s final first-party offering for the system. King Dedede is up to no good again, and Kirby must stop him, with the help of six naimal companions. Combine Kirby’s power-absorbing capabilities with those of his animal friends to get some very unique blends. This game also supports co-op multiplayer.
Hopefully this two-game trend doesn’t persist for very long; there are plenty of good classic games waiting to be released. Also, I hope I’m not the only one who was reminded of that MGS3 short by the phrase "Crab Battle".
