Nintendo DSi In April According To Rumor

According to multiple sources available to IGN, the Nintendo DSi will launch on April 4th.  The DSi didn’t see a launch during the past holiday season due to the sales of DS Lite according to Reggie Fils-Aime.

DSi features two cameras, slightly larger screens, an SD Slot, internal memory, and downloadable software, but a loss of the GBA slot on bottom.  IGN reports that the launch price of the unit will be $179.99.

Yikes!  That’s a steep price if true.  I wonder if it will sell well initially at that price considering many folks consider Nintendo a "value" company.

I think the price is slightly justified. It’s only $30 more than the original DS was on launch (and the DS Lite) and you get more technology in it than the original DS.
