Wiikly Update: 2/2/09

WiiWare: Snowboard Riot, 1,000 Wii Points

This snowboarding title will have you battling against your foes, literally; as you head down the mountain, pick up items that will allow you to attack or defend against the other racers. In addition to having NWC leaderboards, this game is compatible with the Wii Balance Board; up to four people can play at a time.

WiiWare: Lonpos, 800 Wii Points

This puzzle game challenges you to fill up a board consisting of 55 spaces by using 12 specially-shaped blocks, with the number of pieces increasing along with the difficulty as the game goes on. You can play cooperatively or competitively with up to three friends, and you can see how you compare to the rest of the world on NWC.

Master System: Sonic Chaos, 500 Wii Points

This old Master System Sonic title lets you save the day as either Sonic or Tails, taking advantage of their unique abilities. Dr. Robotnik is using one of the Chaos Emeralds to power nuclear weapons, causing the other Emeralds to vanish to a parallel universe; run like mad through six zones and recover all the Emeralds to save the day.

Still waiting on Sonic & Knuckles with the lock-on technology. Otherwise, I’m cautiously optimistic about Snowboard Riot, if only for the desire for a cheap, fun snowboarding game.
