Sega had an exciting booth this year, and I spent a good amount of time playing The Conduit there. I forget what else they had. It probably wasn’t important.
Oh, yeah. They had Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. I played the downhill ski event on the Wii Balance Board and did terribly, but had a lot of fun anyway. The primary issue with the previous Mario and Sonic Olympic game was the complexity of the controls, so hopefully games like hockey and speed skating will improve on this. Inclusion of the Balance Board in downhill games makes a huge difference and a lot of sense, so they certainly have the ease of use there. I am most concerned for the motion controls for the other games.
However, this is coming from an excellent game studio, and they surely heard what everyone said about the first game, so here’s hoping this one turns out to be a winner. Look for this when it hits shelves sometime this fall.
