Harmonix made a number of announcements today at Gamescon regarding its future downloadable content. One note was that several major bands, including Queen, Tom Petty, Nirvana, Pantera, Elton John and more would see Rock Band DLC before the year’s end. The other announcement was two additional albums that would be downloadable for Beatles: Rock Band, namely the albums Rubber Soul and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the latter of which was named the greatest album of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. They will be released in December and November respectively, while the Abbey Road content will be available on October 20. The game is due for release on 9/9/09.
This news makes my day; those two albums are currently my favorite Beatles albums.
