A new development group, calling itself the Game Cartel, has emerged, and it aims to make a game designed by gamers. Anyone who pays the membership fee of $50 will be allowed to give input on the game’s design and vote on proposed ideas/genres/characters/etc. Additional benefits include special deals from partners like Alienware, regular entry into sweepstakes to win prizes, a special pre-release Collector’s Edition of the final product, and their names in the credits of the game. I hope they have a good voting structure, as well as a good development team, or else this could become a major flop. If they know what they’re doing, though, it sounds like a pretty neat deal.
