At long last, anyone who has been apprehensive about purchasing a WiiWare game can rest at ease. Recently, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata announced at an earnings meeting(via IGN) that Nintendo would be adding downloadable demos to the WiiWare service.
Not many details are known at this time, however we do know that only select games will be given the demo treatment. Also, Iwata said that this "test program" will be implemented later this month. This can only help to invigorate the sales of WiiWare games, many of which tend to get lost in the mire that is the Wii Shop Channel. By reducing the risk involved in trying a WiiWare game, Nintendo can get more people exposed to the Shop channel, and in turn, their games.
