Michael Jackson and company performing his famous "lean" move.
According to Pan European Game Information, Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker is listed to be released for the Wii’s Virtual Console. The game was made by SEGA and was released in 1990 on the Genesis (as well as several other systems). The game seems to have been accepted as fairly good, at least for a licensed game, and is fondly remembered by some.
The game involves Michael, donned in his "Smooth Criminal" outfit, trying to save children from a drug lord by pulling off various dance moves which triggers magic powers that he somehow has obtained. The game also includes several popular songs of his, Bubbles the monkey, and even the ability to turn into a giant robot. The whole idea sounds like a joke, but appearances can sometimes be deceiving.
The death of the King of Pop no doubt is a big reason why this is being released and it shouldn’t be a surprise if this gets a fair amount of sales from people who are fans of one of the biggest names in the music industry.
I have never personally played the game, but I have been curious about trying it out before, and that’s something coming from an extreme skeptic when it comes to licensed games.
