Mega Man 10 features a design very similar to that of Mega Man 9.
Nintendo has recently put up a preview for January’s issue of Nintendo Power, showing the cover page, as well as excerpts from the months major stories. Featured quite prominently at the top of the cover cover page is a bar stating "Mega Man 10 – World Exclusive: Retro Mega Man is Back! New Levels! New Features! And…. Sheep Man?"
Up until now there has not even been so much as whisper about a new Mega Man game, though after the critical and commercial success of Mega Man 9 it is not surprising to see another sequel on the way. Mega Man 9 marked the series return to its 8-bit roots, and images from the magazine article show that Capcom is sticking with that design choice for the sequel.
The story is briefly discussed in the article as well. In this game Mega Man is tasked with finding a cure for what ostensibly amounts to a "robot fever". He must run around an collect the vaccine for this deadly disease, and presumably mega-bust a bunch of guys along the way.
The article also introduces two characters, one we’ve all met before, while the other is very new. Making his return to the series, and this time not as DLC, is Proto Man; Mega Man’s comrade who can charge his weapons, and block enemies’ fire with his handy shield. He will be a playable character right from the start, so players will be able to choose between Proto Man or Mega Man as their protagonist. The second character introduced in the article is Sheep Man who, well, looks like a sheep. Apart from his character design we also know that his weapon is called the Thunder Wool, which shoots electric bundles of wool into the sky. These bundles then rain down glorious lightning on the heads of your enemies.

Sheep Man is aptly named.
The article goes on to describe other aspects of the game, but currently only the first two pages of the article can be previewed. You can feel free to check them out, along with additional screens, here. Stay tuned for more information as it comes, or feel free to pick up the January issue of Nintendo Power when it hits newsstands on December 22nd.
