Nintendo Re-Trademarks Eternal Darkness

Alex Roivas, the main character from Eternal Darkness

Apparently a few months ago Nintendo allowed the trademark for Eternal Darkness to expire. But now, according to Siliconera, Nintendo has just recently re-trademarked the title. There’s no information to go on as of yet, but it’s possible that they could have something in mind. There’s the possibility of them creating a New Play Control! version of the game, however due to the way the game is played it seems unlikely. That leaves two options. Either they’re just protecting the name or there’s a sequel brewing. Hopefully it’s the latter. Keep an eye out in the coming months as gaming news starts to pour in from various media conferences.
