I was going to post just the DLC for this week, but less than thirty minutes ago the CEO of Viacom, Philippe Dauman, announced at the Game Developer’s Conference that Rock Band 3 will be released this holiday season. No details are available at this time, but you can bet that we will update with them as they become available.
This week’s DLC update features three new tracks from the White Stripes, as well as tracks on the cheap from bands Shaimus and one from drum legend Neil Peart of Rush. The Futureheads and James Gang also have downloadables available. All tracks cost 200 Nintendo Points except where noted.

Holy wow. I was happy with a great White Stripes pack, but now I have something to look forward to for the next half year or so. Hopefully Rock Band 3 will be at E3 so I can give full impressions.
