Nintendo President Satoru Iwata briefly addresses piracy and health risk concerns with next handheld system.
It’s not easy to get anything out of Nintendo about their next handheld machine, but Nintendo President Satoru Iwata did comment about it today. One of their main focuses with the the system is to beef up anti-piracy measures. Declining to talk about the measures they’re taking against software theft, he went on to say that he’s concerned people are becoming more tolerant of piracy, remarking:
We fear a kind of thinking is become widespread that paying for software is meaningless.
The major draw Nintendo’s next handheld is going to have is the ability to render 3-D games without the need of 3-D glasses. People have started to worry already about what the possible health risks are with prolonged exposure to 3-D Technology, namely, eye sight. Satoru Iwata addressed this, promising that it’ll be easy to turn off the 3-D technology, allowing users to play with or without 3-D.
I like that you’ll be able to turn the 3-D off . I wonder if it’ll be an option before you start the game or if you’ll be able to switch mid-game.
