Nintendo Download: 5/17/10

The Virtual Console returns this week, bringing a SNES classic.

DSiWare: Looksley’s Line Up, 500 Nintendo Points

This title puts a twist on the standard hidden object game, by forcing you to search in three dimensions. As you check out scenes from famous fairy tales, you’ll move your DSi in order to change your viewing angle and get a better look. Find the objects, and other hidden pictures, to move on.

DSiWare: Frogger Returns, 500 Nintendo Points

The original Frogger adventure gets remade on the DSi. You’ll hop in four directions through new levels, encountering new enemies and power-ups. Play for score, time, or just for fun.

DSiWare: A Topsy Turvy Life: Turvy Drops, 200 Nintendo Points

This block puzzler will have you turning your DSi upside-down, putting the touch screen on top. You’ll draw blocks on the top screen to drop down and help eliminate the blocks below. Play on Endless Mode, or solve specific puzzles in Puzzle Mode.

DSiWare: Flips: More Bloody Horowitz, 200 Nintendo Points

Writer Anthony Horowitz lends his hand to the horror writing in this Flips title. You’ll interact with the stories in this rather macabre DSi book.

WiiWare: BIT.TRIP RUNNER, 800 Nintendo Points

In this fast-paced action platformer, you’ll play as CommanderVideo as he races through mines and across the moon, freeing his friends and defeating bosses with his running, jumping, sliding and kicking. This title offers over 50 levels of gameplay.

WiiWare: Blood Beach, 1,000 Nintendo Points

This first-person shooter puts you in the middle of World War II, fending off the Japanese Imperial Navy. Use a variety of weapons to fend off the advancing enemy, including battleships; being hopelessly outnumbered, how long can you last?

SNES: Kirby Super Star, 800 Nintendo Points

The classic SNES Kirby title has arrived on the Virtual Console, after a stint on the Nintendo DS. Swallow enemies and absorb their powers as you play through six different adventures, each one with a different length and different game rules. Once you’ve completed those, test your skill in one of three mini-games, ranging from simple and fun to ultra-hard.

I was wondering if we would be getting Kirby Super Star; it’s still one of my favorite SNES games, though I have Ultra so I don’t think I’ll snag it.
