Sega has pushed back the release date of the first chapter of Sonic 4 to this fall.
Sega has recently dove into the world of chapter-based videogaming, similar to what Valve has done with the Half Life series. With it they announced their first title like this, called Sonic 4: Episode 1. Unlike past Sonic games, it will only be available through the WiiWare store, accesible from any Wii system connected to the internet.
Sega’s American Blog said “SEGA has made the decision to ensure that Sonic 4: Episode I is a game worthy of bearing the weight of its name. To do so, we’ve decided to extend the game’s development – and, for the first time ever, we’ve mixed internal suggestions alongside fan feedback to make some new, positive changes to the game.” No specific date has been announced yet, only with the general time of Fall 2010
I don’t know about you, but I’m extremely excited for Sonic 4. I’m going to make sure I have the Wii Points in my account before Fall, so when they announce the official date I’ll be set.
I hope they know what they're doing. I've seen cases where games actually get worse after being delayed.
