The latest game in Nintendo’s best-selling Dragon Quest series has been given a proper release date.

Nintendo has recently given Dragon Quest IX a release date of July 11 in North America, and July 23rd in Europe. With the Japan sales exceeding four more million copies since its July 11th 2009 release date, I can see why Nintendo has decided to bring the game overseas. This will be the 9th game in the series, and its 1st appearance on a Nintendo platform since the NES days (in the main storyline, that is), which is quite some time back. Dragon Quest IX will let players create their own character and embark on a journey that has an “epic storyline”, according to the press release. There will also be neat co-op features combined with fun gameplay, which can be seen from the vast amount of gameplay videos already on the net from last year’s hype-train. Cammie Dunaway said that “Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies is one of the biggest games ever to hit Nintendo DS, with an incredible amount of content for every kind of player to enjoy.” So what do you gamers think about the latest installment in the Dragon Quest series? Are you going to pick it up? Or if you already own the game, is it worth it?
I’ve never invested any time in the Dragon Quest series, but I think the right time is just coming around the corner with the release of this new game.
