Capcom Might Not Be Releasing Any 3DS Launch Titles

It looks like Capcom will be left in the storm with the launch of the 3DS, as they haven’t given any plans to release 3DS titles at launch. With the launch of the 3DS now building hype, Capcom has answered all of the questions about them and the new system: they won’t be releasing titles at launch. At a recent briefing the 3DS system was one of the topics, and when asked about any plans for upcoming games they said that the only two 3DS titles they had announced (Resident Evil Revelations and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition) are not included at the moment. Of course, this was only for the fiscal year, which ends on March 31st 2011, which leaves more 3DS titles open for release. It looks like Capcom hasn’t been doing well (with weak sales and games in the past year) so hopefully they will pull something out of their sleeve for the 3DS once it releases. Despite not confirming whether the games will be released or not for the 3DS’s launch, Capcom released some screenshots from Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, which can be viewed here.

I would prefer for Capcom to release at least one of the titles, as I am very excited for Resident Evil on the 3DS. Hopefully the time they don’t take to release it can be worked on to make their games even better.
