Nintendo Download: 10/4/10

A long-lost Game Boy heroine makes a triumphant DSiWare return, along with four other titles.

DSiWare: Shantae: Risky’s Revenge, 1,200 Nintendo Points

Shantae the half-genie returns in a new DSiWare adventure full of belly-dancing action. Lady pirate Risky Boots is threatening the peace of Sequin Land, and Shantae must travel through wastelands, deserts, caverns, labyrinths and more, brewing zombie coffee, saving golden babies and transforming into powerful creatures.

DSiWare: Rummikub, 800 Nintendo Points

DSiWare gets its own version of Rummikub, the tile game based on Rummy. Play through the single-player mode, combining tiles to get straights and runs and other such things to gain points. You can play with up to four players, provided they all have a copy of the game.

WiiWare: Racers’ Islands – Crazy Racers, 1,000 Nintendo Points

You’re a contestant on a crazy TV show, and in order to win, you can’t just race well, you need to shoot your opponents too. Race with one hand and shoot with the other across 20 different tracks, designed to look like a giant amusement park. Unlock time trials, new items and trophies.

WiiWare: Learning with the PooYoos: Episode 3, 500 Nintendo Points

This newest installment of the learning game for ages 3-6 has children performing activities based on plants and music. They’ll learn numbers, letters, shapes, colors, lateralization with the PooYoos, even if they don’t know how to read yet.

Neo Geo: Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory, 900 Nintendo Points

This third (actually, fourth) game in the Fatal Fury series introduces a third plane to the game’s trademark two-plane system; after too long in the foreground or background planes, players will return to the main plane automatically. Combination Arts and Hidden Abilities are also introduced, and all the Special Moves get an upgrade as well.

I enjoyed what I played of Shantae, and intrigued by its return. I also enjoy playing Rummikub, but I have those tiles on my own so I might not partake.
