The eagerly awaited installment in the Kingdom Hearts franchise has been given a release date.
Fear not, Kingdom Hearts fans, because one of the best franchises to grace the name of gaming in the past decade has been giving a release date, and it will be appearing on the DS again. This time around, the game will be released on January 11th, 2011. The game is set to have new features, and twists on old gameplay, boasting a “new character growth system created specifically for the Nintendo DS release”. Re:Coded also gives players many options in the avatar menu, allowing them to build their character with “over 800 unlockable parts”, also lets players “trade playable maps with friends”.
The story continues from Kingdom Hearts II, and has Jiminy Cricket “looking over the journal he used to document his first adventure with Sora .> when he discovers a mysterious message. He didn’t write it – so how on earth did it get there? King Mickey is determined to find out, so he and his friends decide to digitize the journal and delve into its deepest secrets. Inside this ‘datascape’ dwells a second Sora who is about to embark on a grand adventure of his very own.”
Let the hype begin!
I don’t know what excites me more, the fact that the game has been announced, or the fact that it’s one day before my birthday. However, I’d prefer to have them jump to PS3, as it’d give them more potential, and the fact that they’ve only been on handhelds for a while is starting to get old, but it IS Kingdom Hearts–just portable!
