A new game takes Marvel’s most patriotic hero on a 3rd-person adventure, announced for the Wii and DS.
Captain America is entering the gaming industry again, this time in the form of a game titled Captain America: Super Soldier. The game will be for Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Wii, and Nintendo DS, and will be released Summer 2011. The game’s story is being written by acclaimed comic writer Christos Gage, and is set “during World War II, and has players taking control of Captain America as he faces against the Iron Cross, Hydra, and other villainous groups serving the hero’s Nazi nemesis the Red Skull.” The game is set to have a unique 3rd-person battle system, which will also incorporate platforming and puzzling, and new shield attacks that will “allow players to take out multiple enemies at once”.
Gary Knight (Sega Europe/America’s Marketing SVP) said that “Working closely with Marvel ensures we’re delivering the calibre product that gamers and comic fans deserve and it’s a partnership we’re proud of here at SEGA.”
I was never a huge fan of Captain America, but if the game turns out interesting then I’ll take a look.
