Wal-Mart may have jumped the gun with listing a piece of hardware.
Over on Walmart.com is a listing for a “Nintendo DSi XL, Red with Mario Kart DS & 2 Value Games Bundle” which depicts the same Mario 25th Anniversary Edition that is coming soon to other regions. The box states that included with the Nintendo DSi XL is Mario Kart along with pre-installed titles Brain Age Express: Math, Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, and Photo Clock. No official word about the release has been stated as of yet from Nintendo of America.
As I mentioned in the podcast, I seriously doubt that Nintendo of America would miss an opportunity to cash in on Mario which makes this and the red system a no-brainer for the company.
