In a recent press report, NOA revealed their latest accomplishment, and give the Wii Remote Plus an official release date.
The word has gotten in, and the numbers have been revealed: Nintendo has managed to market to the US well, and it shows with the latest report of them selling over 65.3 million Wii Remote controllers (in the US)! This is quite the feat, especially within only 4 years, meaning that an average of 46,000 WiiMotes were sold each day.
With the number of titles that have interested people for years on the Wii, it’s no doubt that there are still people lining up to get their fix (as seen in the September NPD numbers).
In other Wii-related news, there is also the new addition to the Wii bundle family, in the form of Wii Remote Plus. Yes, starting November 7th 2010, the Wii Remote Plus will be bundled with any Wii console, just like the current release of the hardware bundle. It will also be sold separately for an official price of $39.99.
Quite the achievement, NOA, congrats!
