Apparently the upcoming game from High Voltage Software Conduit 2 will not be using the WiiSpeak peripheral because Nintendo asked them not to.
High Voltage Software announced yesterday that they weren’t going to use WiiSpeak in their upcoming FPS Conduit 2 for a specific reason. What is that specific reason, you ask? Well, apparently Nintendo advised them not to, according to Eric Nofsinger in a recent interview with Computer and Videogames. Eric said that “We have a Rival system that allows you play with people who aren’t just your friends and it will be chat-enabled using the upcoming Headbanger headset. Not the greatest name but it’s actually a pretty good device. Nintendo told us to not use WiiSpeak.” The Headbanger headset will also be compatible with the recently-released Call of Duty: Black Ops, if that helps you decide on your purchase more or less.
For those of you wondering, Conduit 2 is slated for a February 2011 release date.
Too…many…first person shooters…but at least this one looks interesting. Weird that the big N would tell them to not use their product, where could they be going with this?
Because you can talk to friends and foes alike. Thats why Nintendo asked them not to use it. So far every wii-speak game released in order to talk to people they had to be in your friend roster. A retarded system yeah I know. But whatever I hope more developers start using the Headbanger. Screw Wii-speak. Nintendo needs to grow the hell up.
Well I think more to the point, Nintendo has a horrible history of support for their accessories.
