Nintendo Download: 11/29/10

A highly-hyped indie game makes it to WiiWare and DSiWare this week.

This week, Cave Story on WiiWare is also offered in free demo form.

DSiWare: Cave Story, 1,000 Nintendo Points

The famous independent title from gamer Pixel makes its DSiWare debut. You wake up in a strange land with no memories, and quickly encounter the Mimiga, a race of rabbit-like creatures who are being threatened by a mad scientist. Master the powers of the world and save the Mimiga.

DSiWare: Frenzic, 200 Nintendo Points

This puzzle title is easy to learn but hard to master. Play through the main game mode with difficulties ranging from Newbie to Frenzic Master. How exactly the game is played, however, is unclear.

DSiWare: Spot It! Challenge, 200 Nintendo Points

Based on the Spot It books from Capstone Press, this title challenges you to find the objects hidden in each picture. The game contains ten pictures with hundreds of objects; play by yourself on one of three difficulties, or race against friends to see who can find objects fastest.

WiiWare: Airport Mania: First Flight, 500 Nintendo Points

This time management title has you landing airplanes as needed so as to avoid annoying airport delays. As you play through eight levels, you’ll come across cargo planes, priority flights or damaged aircraft that need repairs. The game comes with its own brand of charm as well.

WiiWare: HB Arcade Disc Golf, 1,000 Nintendo Points

This title has you playing as one of several woodland critters, as you try to get your frisbee into the basket. You’ll have access to a driver, a mid-range disc and a putter. The game uses motion controls in order to simulate real frisbee throwing.

WiiWare: Cave Story, 1,200 Nintendo Points

The famous independent title from gamer Pixel makes its DSiWare debut. You wake up in a strange land with no memories, and quickly encounter the Mimiga, a race of rabbit-like creatures who are being threatened by a mad scientist. Master the powers of the world and save the Mimiga.

Neo Geo: Magical Drop II, 900 Nintendo Points

This puzzle title shares many characteristics with the Puzzle Bobble series. You must line up three balloons of the same color on the top of the screen, in order to get a match and make them disappear. You also have access to arrow balloons and rainbow balloons, which help you get rid of more balloons, but watch out for the useless bubbles.

I’m glad to see that WiiWare demos are going to be delivered a bit more consistently. I’m more glad to see Cave Story finally arrive. I might grab this for DSiWare, I could use a portable action game.
