Pokémon’s fifth generation gets an approximate North American release date.
The next installment of Nintendo’s epic Pokémon franchise, Black and White, will be released in Europe and North America in Spring 2011 for the Nintendo DS. Pokémon Black and White will be adding 156 new Pokémon, bringing the current total number of Pokémon to 649.
Also, the front covers of the games will feature the legendary Pokémon for that game: Reshiram (Pokémon Black) and Zekrom (Pokémon White).
I don’t know how I feel about this one. On one end, I have owned one of every generation of Pokémon since Red and Blue, but the sheer number of Pokémon in this one is just daunting. I’ll just wait and see when it gets here.
i dought alot of people might not know where this is but are there release dates foe when pokemon black and white are coming out in new zealand?
I will definitely be purchasing a copy when I get a chance. I test-drove a Japanese release of White and was hooked (though I can't read any Japanese). Game Freak really put time into this new set.
Those 156 new mons are the only ones that will matter during the game, by the way. For most of the game, players will not see *any* of the previous 493 Pokemon, nor will they be able to import from any previous titles. (I believe that the latter will be possible once the player defeats the Elite Four, but it will require another DS.)
Pretty excited for this game, can't wait for it to arrive in North America.
