Super Smash Bros. on the Green Screen

Would Super Smash Bros. work if it was made 20 years ago?

A man named Dan Fornance asked that same question and created Super Smash Land using Game Maker 8. It is an 8-bit remake of the beloved Super Smash Bros. series using Game Boy graphics. The game is limited in control mechanics as the game is limited to just two buttons to perform all the actions, so throw and shield had to be omitted.

Currently, the only playable characters are Kirby and Mario, but there could because it is only in beta stage and a playable demo will be released this Friday.

You can check out a video of the game here:

This is really cool to see. I’m very excited to get my hands on the demo this friday and see how it plays. Judging by the video, it is very well rounded.
