A collection of DSiWare, WiiWare, and Neo Geo titles round out the year with minimal fanfare.
This week’s free WiiWare demo is for Max & the Magic Marker, released this past March.
DSiWare: G.G Series Z•ONE, 200 Nintendo Points
This newest G.G. Series title is a side-scrolling shooter. Navigate through a block fortress and fire in eight directions to take out your enemies and go deeper and deeper into the enemy stronghold. Each level has a different difficulty level and a different theme.
DSiWare: DodoGo! Challenge, 500 Nintendo Points
This DodoGo! sequel has you rescuing more endangered eggs in nearly 100 levels. Dig through terrain, set fires, cut ropes and more in your quest to avoid traps and get the eggs to safety. Check out your scores on the online leaderboard and see how you stack up.
DSiWare: Fantasy Slots: Adventure Slots and Games, 500 Nintendo Points
The Fantasy Slots title is now portable. Play on one of six five-reel adventure-themed slots, or play on classic Diamonds or Cherries machines. Use your winnings to purchase merchandise and earn VIP suites.
WiiWare: Chick Chick Boom, 800 Nintendo Points
This game will pit you against another team of chicks in battle, hurling things like elephants or sumo chicks at each other, while using ink to draw up good defenses. Play in one of five arenas and unlock up to fifteen teams to play as. Play in Duel Mode, Time Mode or Pro Mode, and compete against up to three friends.
WiiWare: Around the World, 500 Nintendo Points
Test and expand your geography knowledge in this trivia title. Up to four players can be tested on topics like history, monuments, people, sorts and more. You might have to choose an answer from a list of options, or perhaps point to a location on the globe as best you can.
Neo Geo: Fighter’s History Dynamite, 900 Nintendo Points
Another fighter from the system that exemplified the genre. Thirteen fighters from around the world have come to compete in the Great Grapple tournament. Use a wide variety of special moves to attack your opponent, and take them down by identifying their weak spots on their bodies.
Neo Geo: Magical Drop III, 900 Nintendo Points
Just like in Magical Drop II, you’ll fire balloons up to the top of the screen, trying to combine three of the same color to make them disappear. This version of the game has sixteen new characters and a Magical Journey mode.
Side-scrolling shooters always manage to catch my eye, but I’m a Puzzle Bobble fan too so maybe Magical Drop III is worth a look.
