Pokémon Black and White Gets Release Date

The newest iteration of the best-selling franchise now has a release date in North America.

Pokémon Black and White, the upcoming RPG that places you in the Unova region of the Pokémon world, will be released in North America on March 6, 2011, according to a press release from Nintendo of America. The game will feature a season system for the first time, as well as 150 new Pokémon, with the promise that you’ll meet only new Pokémon until you complete the game for the first time.

“Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version represent a generational leap forward for the renowned series, delivering an unprecedented number of new Pokémon to catch, battle and trade,” said Marc Franklin, Nintendo of America’s director of Public Relations. “Whether you have played the Pokémon video games before or are just getting interested in them, you won’t want to miss Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version.”

I’m a little bit burnt out on Pokémon, having blasted through about four games this year, but I think I might have to check this one out to see if Famitsu’s perfect score was justified.
