I remember playing Pokémon Red back during the series’ peak in popularity (for my generation anyway). I always wondered why my in-game Pikachu (which I never dared allow to evolve into a Raichu because I had to be just like Ash) didn’t look like Ash’s Pikachu from the TV series.
I’m guessing if I were 11 or 12 again, I’d be ecstatic with this news. Nintendo announced from now through Feb. 13, Poke trainers in the U.S. and Puerto Rico can take their Nintendo DS’s (DSi’s and XLs of course) to their nearest Toys “R” Us and receive their very own, digital Ash’s Pikachu for use in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver. The special Pikachu comes equipped with moves like Thunderbolt, Iron Tail and Volt Tackle. “Just like Ash’s on TV!” claims the ecstatic press release!
Aside from having a DS with their favorite aforementioned Pokémon game, players must have acquired the Pokédex in the game and not have more than two Wonder Cards in their possession. And don’t forget, as we reported a couple of days back, early adopters of Pokémon Black & White will get special digital treat in their games as well.
I’d still much rather have whatever Pikachu is in the image above. Who’s with me?

Wow… I probably would have missed this if it wasn't for this site. XD I thought it was later.
I'm pretty sure there was a thank you in there. You're welcome
