Here’s your interesting game premise for the day: You’re a spaceship out to save the world from some sort of evil (as usual).
Here’s the kick, though: Your spaceship only has 99 bullets, and each bullet doubles as one of your remaining lives. Therefore, you must shoot strategically and carefully. That’s the idea behind 99Bullets, an upcoming DSiWare title from European developer EnjoyUp Games: the team behind Little Red Riding Hood’s Zombie BBQ. Currently, a release date is TBA.
The visuals are definitely abysmal, but it’s the pretty interesting concept that would make me want to give this retro shooter a chance when it’s eventually downloadable. What do you think, though? Now I wouldn't call that abysmal, they aren't painful or ugly in any way, simply minimalistic, but with fun smooth colors and a certain charm.
