Nintendo has announcedon the Nintendo 3DS at launch. So as soon as you boot up your Nintendo 3DS you’ll be able to download a few Gameboy and Gameboy Color titles. So far the announced games are Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX. The Nintendo 3DS will be available in Japan February 26th, Europe March 25th, Australasia March 31st, and USA March 27th.
“Sure Mario and Zelda are cool… but I want to see Pokemon Red/Blue and Gold/Silver make it to the Virtual Console, what games are you guys hoping to see?”
[UPDATE] – The original source, IGN, has redacted their claims of the Virtual Console being available at launch. We sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused! -NintendoGal

Sources? I would LOVE to take your word for it, but I've already heard that the eShop won't be available 'till May. If you got this from IGN, they've already retracted their statements.
Actually, apparently that's been debunked :p

I’m personally hoping for donkey kong land, Mario golf/tennis, and literally anything pokemon
I heard that it isn't coming on day one.
Yeah! Some original Pokemon would be great, and then they can finally release Pokemon Stadium and Stadium 2 if they let the 3DS connect to the wii and import Pokemon to the games!
I just hope Nintendo really opens up the library on old Gameboy games and doesn't just allow certain games on certain days. I would love to see "Gargoyle's Quest" be downloadable.
The story has been updated. I personally apologize for this mistake and will make sure it won't happen again by me or any of my staff!
