Rock Band DLC Update: 3/1/11

This Sunday, Trent Reznor won an Academy Award for his work on the The Social Network soundtrack; this week, four of his vintage Nine Inch Nails tracks are moving to the Rock Band 3 Music Store. As a tribute to the recent remaster of the original Pretty Hate Machine album, four tracks from the album are now available in the store. All tracks cost 200 Nintendo Points and are downloaded in-game, though the entire pack can be bought for 700 Nintendo Points.

“Head Like a Hole”*
“Terrible Lie”
“Sanctified”
“The Only Time”

*Pro guitar/pro bass chart available for an additional 100 Nintendo Points.

Additionally, Harmonix has released a large number of pro guitar/pro bass tracks for classic DLC songs. Eleven new charts can be purchased for the following songs, at 100 Nintendo Points apiece; you must own the original DLC song to play these.

Blink 182 – “Dammit”
Boston – “More Than A Feeling”
Creedence Clearwater Revival – “Bad Moon Rising”
Creedence Clearwater Revival – “Fortunate Son”
Eve 6 – “Inside Out”
The James Gang – “Funk #49″
The Knack – “My Sharona (Cover Version)”
Lynyrd Skynyrd – “Simple Man”
Metallica – “…And Justice for All”
The Offspring – “Self Esteem”
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble – “Pride and Joy”

The Pretty Hate Machine pack was an instant purchase for me, being a huge Nine Inch Nails fan. As for the pro guitar upgrades, they’re a fantastic idea and really indicative of Harmonix’s commitment to the new Pro modes. If I had a Pro guitar controller I’d have some of these already.
