Nintendo announced today that, according to sales numbers from NPD Group, the Wii has now moved 35 million units in the United States. The barrier was crossed this February, when the system sold 454,000 units. This marks the fastest time to 35 million sold of any other console in this country.
Nintendo also announced sales milestones for several other titles:
-Donkey Kong Country Returns has sold 2 million copies in the few months it’s been out.
-New Super Mario Bros. Wii, which launched in November 2009, has sold 8 million copies.
-Pokémon SoulSilver Version has sold 2 million copies; it’s unclear if this includes sales from HeartGold Version as well.
-The original New Super Mario Bros. for DS has now sold 9 million copies in the United States.
Nintendo Gal will post full NPD Group sales information soon.
While the Wii is still selling respectably well, I think it’s going to continue on its general downward decline from this point out; Nintendo might want to prepare its next console for reveal this year or next. Also, I’m extremely pleased with the sales of Donkey Kong Country Returns, because that game is amazing and I want another.

and haters think wii is in decline hah, take that!
