Due to the recent earthquakes in Japan and the need to conserve power, Nintendo has stated that the Pokémon Global Link will be delayed until sometime in spring.
The Global Link is going to allow players to go into the dreams of Pokémon and find items, interact with players, and even catch other Pokémon which would otherwise not be caught in the normal world of Unova. You would also be able to do random battles with trainers and keep a record of all of your matches online.
While it does stink that Global Link is delayed, it is very reasonable why. I hope that they recover well and that their loved ones are all safe.
I am an avid pokefan. While the delay sucks, I can see why it’s happening. I hope that Japan recovers quickly and well.

While it may be the US that the server is in, other resources are going to Japan to assist residents over there. It is cost effective for Nintendo to have the global link to be down for the time being. Don’t worry, the time for the Global Link will be there in the months to come =)

There is really no real need for the Global Link right now, Just sit back and enjoy the game… at least you can. Be glad it wasn’t you over in Japan
I was all ready for the release and then when I went to the website my heart sank when I saw that it was delayed. But the disaster in Japan is pretty bad so I can’t really say I blame them.
I was hoping for the Global link to come out today. I beat the game all too early after 17 hours. Nothing left to do in the game. Oh well, back to the battle subway

Nintendo took a lot of time creating the features of Black and White for the DS,but like all Pokemon games the story out line is just to short and is a constant repeat. The generations of Pokemon and the features of the game do seem to change each year,but there is not enough creativity, if Nintendo wanted to make a great game, they should change the story line and make things more interesting. I think it is a waste of American Dollars, for you to purchase a game that only changes its characters,maps and a constant repeat over and over the same thing seems quite boring to me. You may not agree with me, but really think about it, if you keep buying these games they’ll never change, the story will stay the same the Pokemon will change, but realistically you’ll get bored sooner or later once you beat this game and whatever Pokemon game it is you’ll look back after beating it and say “why did I buy such a dumb game”.

Shadofist, Nintendo cannot help that there was an earthquake, so IF there had been no earthquake, then PGL would have been launched on the 30th of March (or if there is a different date for America, then that date) as planned.
the delay in japan is totally understandable and the delay sucks but japan needs help so if you dont have money make a flipnote with your dsi for smile for japan.

I know someone who lives in Japan. I hope she’s ok. It’s really sad about Japan with the Earthquake. To Japan I give my support and Thanks. Because if it wasn’t for Japan no one would have video games or Pokemon. I hope that the Dream World will be up soon, but I’ll understand if it takes them a bit longer
I’m only a little frustrated with the GL being down, simply because I feel like I may get tired of the game before it even comes online.
I’m not upset *with* anyone, just at the prospect of putting the game down before I actually *do* everything…

Unknown, what you say, may have some merit to it, but that does not change the fact that there are tons of die hard fans out there (Including me) that just don’t care about all that stuff, and love pokemon regardless.
I on the other hand loved the story, but I still felt like there could have been more added to it.
Then again, I felt that way about Gold/Silver/Crystal when they were released.
It is sad about the delay, but my heart goes out to the Japanese, and I pray that you all recover safely from this horrible knockdown.
i only play the Pokemon games and nothing else i have played all of the games its a great rpg game unknown u are on of the 100 haters out there grow up and stop being a baby.
