Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Mario, Link, Donkey Kong and others, held a press conference in Paris this week in order to talk about future plans for the 3DS. Here are some of the highlights from the event:
-The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will be released shortly after E3 2011. The game runs at a higher framerate, includes the Master Quest mode with a mirror mode option, and a boss mode.
-Star Fox 3D is complete.
-Mario Kart 3D will be released this year sometime.
-Super Mario 3DS will be a combination of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros. The camera is fixed and closer to SM64.
-Nintendo is experimenting with things like projecting different objects into each eye to achieve a sort of “ghost” effect, for a ghost-like game. They are also exploring 3DS connectivity to a future home console.

The only game I’m really excited for out of the bunch is Super Mario 3DS; platformers have always been one of my favorite genres.

Nintendo really are a bunch of morons, releasing their franchise games 9 months after the console had been released once the prices have dropped.
