There are no new WiiWare demos available this week, but the Nintendo 3DS eShop has finally launched. The following titles are newly available:
3D Classics: Excitebike, Free (limited time)
The classic NES game is back, with a new 3D look to its old-school graphics. This bike racing game is free for a limited time.
3DSWare: Pokédex 3D, Free
Pokémon fans will be happy with this complimentary software title, which lets them see their Pokémon in 3D. Complete your collection by collecting other Pokémon through StreetPass, from friends, and with special AR markers.
Game Boy Color: The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX, $5.99
A fan favorite, this DX version of Link’s Awakening included an updated color appearance and more, and now it has 3D as well. Join Link as he quests to awaken the Wind Fish of Koholint Island, by collecting the instruments to play the Ballad of the Wind Fish.
Game Boy: Super Mario Land, $3.99
The very first Mario title on Game Boy is now one of the first in the eShop. Journey as Mario through Sarasaland, as he quests to save Princess Daisy in her very first videogame appearance.
Game Boy: Alleyway, $2.99
This Arkanoid clone was another Game Boy classic. Move your ship back and forth at the bottom of the screen, in order to guide a ball at the top to break all the blocks.
Game Boy: Radar Mission, $2.99
This title will have you commanding your own naval fleet. Try to locate and sink the enemy’s ships before they sink yours, in one of two gameplay modes.
DSiWare: GO Series Picdun, 200 Nintendo Points
Picdun, short for Picture Dungeon, is a unique kind of dungeon crawler RPG. As you explore the dungeon, solve puzzles and find hidden paths, your steps will unveil a hidden picture on the top screen. As you explore 60 floors and until 60 pictures, you’ll attack and defeat enemies and upgrade your weaponry.
DSiWare: Dreamwalker, 500 Nintendo Points
Walker is walking in his sleep; get him to Sunrise without waking him up to complete the puzzles of this game. You control the maze through which he walks, which is filled with alarm clocks, Night Mares and Early Birds, determined to wake him from his sleep. Get him to Sunrise in a quick or clever way and you’ll get Reward Stars. This title includes 40 levels as well as two bonus games.
DSiWare: Crazy Cheebo: Puzzle Party, 200 Nintendo Points
This puzzle game will have you mixing up panels and trying to match three of the same color, in a manner similar to Puzzle League. Combine larger groups or chain combos together for maximum points. Enjoy hilarious videos as the game progresses, or play against your friends.
WiiWare: Ubongo, 800 Nintendo Points
The goal of this puzzle title is to grab as many gems of the same color as you can manage; the winner is the player with the most gems when time is up. Try out History Mode, Quick Game, Time Attack or Multiplayer.
I’m glad to see the eShop is finally online; I’m looking forward to revisiting older games with some extra 3D. Perhaps we’ll have an addition to the Nintendo Download.
