Nintendo Download: 7/21/11

In addition to the five games listed below, Nintendo also listed the Nintendo Video application in their press release, which is downloadable as of this writing.

3D Classics: Xevious, $5.99

The classic NES shooter is redone with 3D graphics. Fly through the air attacking enemies in the sky and on the ground, with the enemies below sunk into the background using the system’s 3D abilities. Fight your way through 16 re-realized levels.

DSiWare: Kung Fu Dragon, $1.99/200 Nintendo Points

You play as one of three warriors, each with their own special abilities, who must train by climbing up a raging waterfall. Jump from platform to platform, taking out boss enemies as you go. Jump as high as you can!

DSiWare: Trollboarder, $1.99/200 Nintendo Points

The treasure of the dragons has been stolen, and you need to recover it lest you receive their wrath. Slide down the slopes on your snowboard, collecting treasure and doing tricks to pick up speed. You can race on an infinite number of tracks across three environments.

DSiWare: Antipole, $4.99/500 Nintendo Points

This game turns platformers on their head, literally. In this title, you must escape an alien mothership by reversing gravity, similar to the popular Steam title VVVVVV. Collect coins as you escape in order to unlock new challenge levels. Owners of the DSiWare title Cosmos X2 will find a bonus in this title.

WiiWare: Bobby Carrot Forever, 800 Nintendo Points

Bobby Carrot has some interesting dreams, in which he explores of large, colorful and puzzling worlds. Use items to help you collect every carrot in each level, and uncover the secret of the six golden carrots as you play. This game boasts 70 levels with over 15 hours of gameplay, with additional levels available for purchase.

The Nintendo Video application looks pretty interesting; I wonder if there’s a glut of 3D video trailers I can watch in there. Besides that, I was able to play 3D Xevious at E3 2010, and the 3D effect hurt my eyes a bit, but the 3D has been smoothed out across most games since then, so it might be worth a purchase.
