Walmart has announced they will no longer keep their sales data to themselves. For ten years, companies such as Nielsen have excluded the giant due to this fact. Now Nielsen has signed an agreement with Walmart to recieve and analyze sales data from their US stores. Other data analysis outlets are jumping on the situation including SympohyIRI who says they’ll have the data from Walmart soon as well. Currently Walmart already releases sales information in regards to Sam’s Club.
I wonder what this will do to the sales information from NPD and if they’ll be getting in on this or not.
