Nintendo 3DS System Update 2.1.0-4U

A new system update was made available for the Nintendo 3DS today, a little over a month after the last one came about. This new update, which brings the system firmware to version 2.1.0-4U, does not add any new features, but improves the general performance, according to the update notes:

System stability improvements and other adjustments: Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.

Others have noticed that some colors have been added to the Nintendo 3DS Sound StreetPass data, and the Web browser has been updated, but it’s unclear what has happened to it.

You can download this update by selecting System Settings from your 3DS menu, choosing Other Settings, and going to System Update.

Nintendo might just be treating system updates the way Windows does; if there’s something that can be fixed, might as well fix it, even if it’s not revolutionary and new. I’m personally waiting for the update that lets applications load noticeable faster.
