Level 5, developers of the highly popular Professor Layton series for Nintendo DS, has announced that the Professor’s firest feature-length film, Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, will be released on November 8, 2011. Originally announced for North American release at Anime Expo in July, the film has Professor Layton and his apprentice Luke trying to solve a number of mysterious disappearances, and deduce how they might be related to a famed opera house. The film will be available on Blu-ray and DVD.
This is great news. Some of the best parts of the Professor Layton series are its voice acting, cutscenes, and animation style. It’s a perfect fit for a movie adaptation, and I’ll be picking this up as soon as it’s available.
