Within moments of picking up my badge, I was off taking numerous photos of PAX Prime 2011.
Although access to the Exhibitor’s Hall is for those who have business in there only, I managed to snag a few shots of the Nintendo Lounge. There, many bean bags, pink and yellow, littered the ground on both floors around demo kiosks for both Wii, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS.
Other areas of the Washington State Convention Center showed minor signs of PAX, with many hard workers putting advertisements up. On the escalators this year is a new sign, one that states photos and stopping is prohibited in the posted areas. A welcome change for folks trying to get to and fro.
While checking out one of the doors to the Exhibition Hall, I caught a glimpse of Tycho/Jerry Holkins of Penny Arcade talking to a few fans. After they parted ways, one of the more enthusiastic fans commented to his friends, “this is the best convention ever!!!”.
PAX Prime was chaotic today with signs scattered throughout in the wrong areas and staff running around trying to put get their jobs done. To be fair however, PAX doesn’t start up fully until tomorrow, so a few misplaced signs are to be expected.
Look for more PAX Prime 2011 coverage over the weekend!
