Netflix on their official blog has announced they will be splitting the Netflix brand into two. While Netflix will retain the name for the streaming only service, the company will now refer to their disc rental mailing service as Qwikster. The company has also announced they will be providing video game rentals, including Wii titles. Although the basic membership fee for Qwikster is $7.99 a month for one DVD at a time, there will be additional fees for game rentals, similar to what they have with Blu-ray Discs.
I’ve never used a mailing service for games like GameFly, however I did enjoy the Redbox game rentals when I was living in WA. Anyone else thinking of giving this a try or will you wait and see how this plays out?
