Nielsen, the global marketing and research company that provides television ratings, has compiled their list of Top 20 Games to Watch. Created through analyzing consumer trends and through Nielsen’s Video Game Tracking survery, the list details what they calculate are the most anticipated games of the 2011 holiday season. Of the 20 games on the list, two of them were Nintendo exclusives: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was their sixth-highest rated game, and Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games was their twelfth-highest rated. Just Dance 3, a former Nintendo exclusive that will be on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, was also on the list as the eighth-highest rated. You can view the entire list here.
The list bothers me in that it lacks Dark Souls, which I’m fairly certain is a very highly anticipated title. It makes me wonder about their modus operandi.
