NES-Inspired “Kill Screen” Album Available Now

Mark Dago, a musician hailing from Salt Lake City, UT, has just released his second album Kill Screen, which contains a number of tunes inspired by NES-era video games like Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! The music blends old-school chiptune music with hip-hop beats, with rap lyrics layered on top of the mix. The album was produced by producer Fisch, and in one song has harmonies from singer Lauren Hoyt, of Dani Lion. The album can be obtained for free from Mark Dago’s Bandcamp page.

After listening to some tracks, I’m enjoying the mix of rap and chiptunes, even though I thought it would be a bit odd at first. If you like retro music and/or nostalgia, you should check this music out.
