Ready your Pokémon and turn your hats back, because it is time for the first ever Pokémon Online Tournament. The Pokémon Company will be hosting their tournament, called the Pokémon Autumn Friendly, from October 20 – 23. Registration is from October 12 – 19 and it is a free sign up. Registration is on the Pokémon Global Link website.
There are a few rules and restrictions that people must abide by during the tournament. First is what kind of Pokémon can be used; only the Unova region are allowed but their legendary Pokémon are forbidden. Battles will be conducted in doubles mode and and Pokémon above level 51 will be lowered to 50. It is unclear if your Pokémon will be raised to level 50 if they are below. You also need to anywhere from 4 to 6 Pokémon in your battle box for this competition.
The tournament will take place in the Pokémon Global Battle Union. Participants will not be instantly qualified for the Pokémon World Championship 2012 and the winner gets the title of Pokémon Autumn Friend Champion.
I’m pretty stoked for this. I have to check to see my stats on my Pokémon and make sure they’ll be ready for this.
